About Us

Looking Beyond the Cracks

Criterium-Williams Residential Engineering provides licensed residential structural engineering and foundation inspections for homeowners across Central Texas. Our inspections are performed by Texas-licensed Professional Engineers and are grounded in established engineering standards, objective analysis, and professional judgment.

A home is a system of interconnected components—where soils influence foundation behavior, foundations support the structure, and each element affects overall performance. Our engineers approach every residential foundation inspection and structural evaluation with this systems-based perspective, allowing us to evaluate visible symptoms and potential underlying contributors, rather than focusing on isolated conditions alone.

Our team brings experience in residential structural engineering, foundation behavior, slab and pier-and-beam systems, and building enclosure performance, enabling us to assess how framing, foundations, soils, drainage, and construction detailing interact in real-world conditions. Because we are actively involved in residential design and forensic evaluation, we inspect existing homes with a clear understanding of how they are intended to perform—and how they commonly change over time.

Since 2015, our engineers have completed over 2,000 engineering inspections under consistent technical standards, much of that work supporting professional and third-party clients throughout Central Texas. Criterium-Williams Residential Engineering was created to give homeowners direct access to that same level of methodical, data-driven engineering that has long supported professional, municipal, and industry clients—now focused on helping individual homeowners make clear, well-informed decisions about their homes.
